What Retouching Should Do

Retouching, at its best, isn’t about changing how you look.

It"s about removing distractions.

Things like:

⭐️ Minor skin inconsistencies that aren’t part of your everyday appearance

These are not part of your identity. They’re momentary—and they don’t need to live forever in your photos.

The goal is simple: when someone sees your image, their focus stays on you, not on something that wouldn’t normally define you.

What Retouching Should Never Do

This is where trust matters.

I don’t remove the things that make you recognizable, relatable, and real.

That includes:

Character lines that tell your story
The natural texture of your skin
Features that make you uniquely you

Because those are the details that create connection.

In personal branding and professional headshots, connection is everything. People don’t engage with perfection—they engage with authenticity.

The “Natural Look” Isn’t an Accident

A natural image isn’t just about avoiding heavy editing. It’s about the entire process:

How you’re lit
How you’re posed
How you’re guided throughout the session
And yes, how your image is refined afterward

When all of those pieces come together intentionally, the final image doesn’t feel edited—it feels like you on your best day.
